KUCHING: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (BPHB), through Yayasan Bintulu Port, recently organised the ‘Jalinan Kasih Ramadan’ programme, bringing together invited guests and children from Taman Seri Puteri for a meaningful iftar gathering.
The event aimed to celebrate the spirit of togetherness and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere for both the children and guests.
Among those present were Yayasan Bintulu Port Chief Executive Officer and BPHB Group Stakeholder Relations General Manager Maslihah Tioh, BPHB Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer Daiana Luna Suip, and Datin Dayang Hapipahton Abang Abdillah, wife of BPHB President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ruslan Abdul Ghani.
Speaking at the event held at Sarawak Golf Club on Wednesday (March 4), Maslihah said the programme reflected Bintulu Port’s commitment to community engagement and corporate social responsibility.
“For Bintulu Port, success is not measured solely by corporate achievements but also by the positive impact we can create within the community,” she said.
She added that initiatives such as the Ramadan iftar gathering serve as an important platform to strengthen ties between organisations and the wider community.
“We hope that our presence and contributions will bring joy to the children of Taman Seri Puteri and remind them that they are valued, cared for, and never forgotten,” she said.
During the programme, Yayasan Bintulu Port presented financial contributions to 44 children at Taman Seri Puteri, with each recipient receiving RM200. The contribution is expected to help ease their financial burdens and bring some cheer as they prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
The initiative also reflects the foundation’s broader commitment to social welfare, one of the four key pillars guiding Yayasan Bintulu Port’s community development efforts.
“Apart from social welfare, the foundation focuses on education, healthcare, and religious development as part of its mission to empower communities and enhance social wellbeing, particularly in Sarawak.
“Bintulu Port had also previously contributed RM27,000 in 2025 to assist with essential needs and facility improvements at Taman Seri Puteri,” she said, noting that such continued support demonstrates the company’s dedication to ensuring the welfare of residents at the institution remains well supported.
