BAU: A driver was issued a traffic summons after a video showing a vehicle making an illegal turn along Jalan Bau-Serikin went viral on social media.
Bau traffic investigation and enforcement division (BSPT) said the dashcam recording, uploaded on the Sarawak Road Update Facebook page, showed a Toyota Hilux single cab making an illegal turn at KM1 near a traffic light junction.
Following investigations, police managed to trace the driver and directed him to report to the BSPT office at the Bau police headquarters (IPD) for further action.
The driver arrived at the office at about 11.15 am today together with the vehicle to assist in investigations.
Police said the driver admitted to committing the offence and was issued a summons under Rule 6(1) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for making an illegal turn.
