MIRI: Three vehicles were seized during an enforcement operation codenamed Ops Patuh by the Road Transport Department (RTD) in the city on Tuesday (Mar 10).

Officers from the Miri branch seized a luxury Chrysler 300, a Perodua Axia and a Perodua Bezza after the vehicles were found to have expired motor vehicle licences (LKM) and no valid insurance coverage.

The operation, conducted through patrols and monitoring around the city, was also joined by RTD director Norizan Jili, who observed the enforcement activities and ensured they were carried out effectively.

A total of 341 vehicles of various types were inspected.

Checks found several offences, like driving without a valid licence, failing to wear seat belts, using mobile phones while driving, as well as vehicles with technical issues.

Notices of non-compliance were issued against those found committing the offences.

The department said it remains committed to intensifying enforcement activities continuously and will not compromise with any party found violating road laws.

The public is also reminded to always comply with road regulations to ensure the safety of road users.
