KUCHING: A total of 58 recipients benefitted from food basket distribution and iftar programme at Farley Kuching.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin said the programme was part of his team’s ongoing efforts to assist families in need, enabling them to observe Ramadan with greater peace of mind.

“Ramadan is a month filled with blessings, patience and reflection. It serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion and the spirit of sharing with those who are less fortunate.

“Through this programme, we hope to ease the burden of deserving families so that they may celebrate Ramadan with their loved ones in comfort.

“This contribution may be modest, but it is offered with sincerity and a deep sense of community,” he said during his speech at a breaking-of-fast programme yesterday (Mar 15).

The programme was jointly organised by the Kota Sentosa Service Centre and Farley Supermarket, which served as the venue sponsor.

He added that the spirit of mutual assistance remains the foundation of harmony and unity in the Kota Sentosa community and extended his appreciation to all volunteers and community leaders whose support made the event possible.

“As a representative of the people of Kota Sentosa, I remain committed to reaching out to the community and safeguarding the welfare of all residents, regardless of race or background,” he said.

Among those who received the contributions were residents of Kampung Stutong Baru Melayu and Kampung Batu Perak, both located within the Kota Sentosa state constituency.
