KUCHING: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has confirmed his engagement to singer-actress Bella Astillah, announcing the news via a video shared on his social media platform.
In the post, captioned “I asked, she said yes”, Syed Saddiq described the engagement as the start of a new chapter in their journey together.
“This is not the end of our story, but the beginning. Today marks our engagement – please keep us in your prayers,” he wrote.
He revealed that their relationship grew from a professional collaboration that raised over RM6 million for the rakyat, which eventually brought them closer.
“Allah SWT is the best planner,” he said, adding that the proposal took place at the summit of Mount Kinabalu during heavy rain.
The announcement drew widespread congratulations from netizens and prominent figures, including Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh.
“Congratulations Saddiq! Big boy now, wishing you nothing but pure happiness with Bella,” she said.
Meanwhile, speculation had emerged online that the couple might announce their marriage on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, following subtle hints shared on social media that had sparked excitement among fans.
