BINTULU: A multipurpose vehicle (MPV) has been destroyed in a fire at Batu 27 along Jalan Bintulu–Miri here this evening (Mar 28).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident was reported at 4.26 pm, with firefighters arriving at the scene at about 5.08 pm.
The vehicle was completely burned, but all occupants managed to escape safely before the fire spread.
Bomba spokesperson said firefighters used a 100-foot hose line, drawing water from the fire engine tank to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was brought under control and the operation concluded at 5.19pm after the area was declared safe.
No injuries were reported.
