BAU: Police arrested five local men allegedly involved in drug abuse activities during Op Tapis here, recently.
A team from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) carried out raids from 12.30am to 6am on Mar 25 around Kampung Opar and Kampung Suba Buan.
Bau district police chief Supt Mohd Haide A Rahman said the NCID team arrested five men while on patrols in the villages.
“The NCID team arrested five men in Op Tapis who were believed to be involved in abusing illegal substances.
“Upon an inspection of one of the suspects, the team discovered a transparent packet containing crystal-like substances believed to be methamphetamine.
“The drug on the suspect weighs 0.20 grammes, and he was arrested under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.
Of the five suspect, one man was found negative for drug through urine screening test while the rest were found positive for drugs.
The four suspects are arrested under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
