Abang Johari performs Friday prayers with Limbang community

LIMBANG: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg joined the local Muslim community in performing Friday prayers at Masjid Jannatal Firdaus here.

The prayers were led by State Grand Imam, Sahibul Fadhilah Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi, who delivered a sermon titled ‘Mensyukuri Nikmat Pembangunan’ (Gratitude for the Blessings of Development).

In his ‘khutbah’, he called on Muslims to always be thankful for the progress achieved and to continue strengthening unity for the well-being and harmony of the state.

After the prayers, Abang Johari spent time engaging with congregants, reflecting the close rapport between the state leadership and the grassroots community.

His visit to Limbang is in conjunction with the ‘Sarawakku Sayang’ Programme (Limbang Division), scheduled to be held tomorrow (Sat, Apr 11) at 10.30 am at the Limbang Sports Complex, where he is expected to officiate the event.

Also present today were Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi; State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Deputy Transport Minister, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah; and Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail.
