MIRI: Police here have arrested five men after a violent brawl involving weapons in Bekenu raised concerns following the circulation of footage on social media.

Miri District Police Chief, ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, said the incident is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons, and Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.

The suspects, comprising three local men and two foreign nationals, were arrested following intelligence-led operations carried out shortly after the incident surfaced online.
