JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the commencement of pilgrims’ arrival to the Kingdom through air, land, and sea ports to perform Hajj this year, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The process is carried out within an integrated system of services and facilities under the supervision of the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, in cooperation with relevant authorities to ensure smooth entry procedures and transfer to residences.

The ministry said airports on Saturday received flights from several countries, including Pakistan, Türkiye, Afghanistan, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, and Thailand, with around 30 flights processed through organised procedures.

It noted that readiness at ports was enhanced by increasing staff, activating dedicated pilgrim routes, and preparing reception facilities to improve efficiency and speed.

The ministry also highlighted coordination among agencies to facilitate entry procedures, provide guidance and multilingual support, and ensure smooth transfer of pilgrims to their residences in Makkah and Madinah. – BERNAMA-SPA
