KUCHING: The construction of the Sejingkat Bridge has reached 84.86 per cent physical completion, reflecting a steady progress towards its full culmination.
According to the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD), the milestone indicates encouraging development for the project, which is expected to enhance connectivity and support local socio-economic growth once completed.
PWD director, Datuk Dr Cassidy Morris conducted a site visit to assess the implementation progress and ensure works were carried out according to specifications, technical standards and the set timeline.
During the visit, a detailed briefing was presented on the project’s current status and latest developments.
“Continuous monitoring, strict adherence to safety requirements, and close cooperation among all parties are crucial to ensure the project is completed on schedule for the benefit of the people,” the department said.
The project is expected to significantly improve transportation links in the area while boosting socio-economic activities for the surrounding communities.
