SARATOK: A disabled teenage girl has claimed to have been raped five times by a widower, believed to be a neighbour at a longhouse here.
Saratok Police Chief, DSP Mathew Manggie, said police received a report from the girl’s mother on Tuesday (April 21) after her daughter complained of pain in her private parts while urinating the day before.
“Based on the mother’s statement as told by her daughter, the 59-year-old suspect allegedly forced the 13-year-old victim to have sex in his room five times.
“The girl had recently returned to her village to live with her grandparents after attending school for only one week.
“Following the report, her family transported her to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in Kuching for a routine check-up,” he said.
Meanwhile, the suspect was picked up by a police team on the same day that the report was filed.
During initial questioning, the suspect did not admit to his actions and had never made any threats against the victim.
Mathew stated that the suspect is currently under remand at Saratok police lock-up for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
