BAU: Two separate property crimes — a motorcycle theft and a house break-in — were reported here on Wednesday (Apr 23).

Bau police chief Act Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the first case involved a Honda C100B motorcycle stolen from Kampung Jagoi Duyoh at about 2.45am.

Initial checks found the motorcycle had been left unlocked, with losses estimated at RM1,000.

He said the second case involved a break-in at a house in Kampung Tanjong Poting, Singai, where the suspect is believed to have gained entry through a window.

Among items taken were a ceiling fan, lights and electrical cables, with losses estimated at RM3,000.

Both cases are being investigated under Section 379A and Section 457 of the Penal Code.

Haide advised the public to ensure vehicles are locked and to improve home security, including installing window grilles, lighting or CCTV.
