KUCHING: A 32-year-old local man has been arrested over the alleged sexual assault of two boys at an apartment here.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said a police report was lodged by a 13-year-old student at about 5.12pm on Saturday (Apr 25), claiming he had been molested.
He said initial investigations found that the victim and his friend had stayed overnight at the suspect’s residence on Friday (Apr 24) to attend tuition classes.
“The incident was believed to have occurred at around 3am the following day, when the suspect allegedly touched the victims’ genitals while they were asleep.
“Following the report, a team from the district police headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Division arrested the suspect,” he said in a statement.
Urine screening tests conducted on the suspect returned negative for drugs, while checks also found no prior criminal record.
The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
