DARO: Deputy Health Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib conducted a working visit to the proposed construction site of the Klinik Kesihatan (Type 4) Daro project in Mukah to assess the progress of its second phase on Tuesday (Apr 28).
The Public Works Department (PWD) Sarawak said the visit reflects the continued commitment of both the federal and Sarawak governments in ensuring the provision of quality, modern and sustainable healthcare infrastructure, particularly for rural communities.
During the visit, Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad delivered a project briefing outlining the scope of works, current progress and the project’s significance in improving access to healthcare services for the local community.
The project involves the construction of a Type 4 health clinic complete with supporting facilities, including staff quarters, an ambulance garage, pump house, refuse house, utility infrastructure, as well as external works and mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations.
The project is scheduled for implementation over a period of 30 months, beginning Feb 4, 2026 and expected to be completed by Aug 3, 2028.
Also present were Igan MP Ahmad Johnie Zawawi; Senior Undersecretary (Development) at the Ministry of Health Roslinah Mad Jani; Sarawak State Health Department director Veronica Lugah and her deputy Muhd Nazaruddin; as well as officers from the PWD Mukah Division.
