SIMANGGANG: Police have launched a search for a 12-year-old boy who went missing from SK Sri Aman while undergoing a school registration process yesterday (Tuesday, April 28).
Sri Aman Police Chief, Supt Dennis Bunyam, said the school alerted the Social Welfare Department (JKM) at around 8:40 am after the pupil, identified as Law Ching Sing, fled the school compound and has yet to be found.
“The child is under the care of JKM and was supposed to attend the registration process for new student intake at the school. The incident was confirmed by school teachers to JKM officers who were present at the time,” he said.
The department subsequently lodged a police report to enable immediate action to trace the boy.
Dennis stated that search efforts are ongoing with the cooperation of the police, the school, and the local community.
