MUKAH: Two wooden houses in Kampung Bunut here were completely destroyed in a fire this morning (Apr 29).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as none of the residents were present at the time of the incident.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the blaze broke out at around 9:20 am and quickly engulfed both homes.
Firefighters from Mukah station were dispatched to the scene, about 10 kilometres away, following an emergency call.
The flames were brought under control at 9:50 am using water from the fire engine pump and a nearby hydrant.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operations at 11:17 am.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
