KUCHING: Junior Chamber Internationa (JCI) Kuching will host a two-day virtual ‘Oratorical Coaching’ programme this weekend to sharpen public speaking and debating skills among young leaders.

Scheduled for May 1 to 2 via Zoom, the programme offers a structured format consisting of 30 minutes of targeted training followed by 90 minutes of intensive coaching.

Organising chairman, Albert Loi, stated that the initiative aims to provide a high-impact learning experience where participants can engage in live sparring sessions and receive immediate professional feedback.

“The programme is divided into three key segments, starting with Public Speaking on Friday (May 1) from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, which is limited to nine participants.

“This will be followed by English Debate and Oregon Debate sessions on Saturday (May 2), providing platform for teams to hone their competitive edge,” he said.

The coaching panel features a lineup of distinguished speakers and champions, including Sylvester Lim, Snowy Chang, Vicki Wong and Albert Loi himself.

The event is co-hosted by several chapters, including JCI Mandarin Sibu, JCI Youth MPI, JCI Batu Kawa, JCI Sarikei, and JCI Jalan Tanjung Kidurong, with support from JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak.

Aspiring speakers and debaters interested in the programme can contact JCI Kuching for registration details.
