KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, has called on all parties to continue strengthening a work culture that is professional, rooted in integrity, and driven by teamwork in conjunction with Labour Day 2026.

According to a statement issued by Astana Sarawak today, Wan Junaidi, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, extended Labour Day greetings while expressing appreciation to workers across Sarawak.

He emphasised that every type of work, whether in the public or private sector, carries its own dignity and value, contributing meaningfully to the progress of the state and the well-being of society.

Wan Junaidi noted that this year’s theme, ‘Pekerja Kesuma Bangsa’, alongside Sarawak’s theme ‘Pekerjaan Cemerlang, Sarawak Maju Makmur’, underscores the importance of workers as the driving force of development.

He added that greater attention must be given to the welfare, safety and well-being of workers to ensure sustainable and balanced growth.

Wan Junaidi also expressed confidence that through strong collaboration between employees, employers and the government, Sarawak will continue to advance as a prosperous and competitive state on the global stage.
