BAU: Police have issued 22 traffic summonses for various offences during Ops Motosikal carried out across several hotspots in the district last night (May 2).
The enforcement operation targeted common traffic offences involving motorcyclists along Jalan Bau–Serikin, Jalan Bau–Lundu, Jalan Bau–Kuching, Jalan Bau–Batu Kawa, Jalan Singai–Apar, Jalan Musi and around Bau town.
Bau police chief Mohd Haide A Rahman said a total of 35 motorcycles and 40 individuals were inspected throughout the operation.
“Among the offences detected included absence of rear-view mirrors, modified exhausts, riding without licence, expired road tax, failure to wear helmets, improper licence plates and faulty braking systems.
“No arrests or seizures were made in this operation,” he said.

Mohd Haide said such operations are aimed at increasing compliance with road regulations and reducing accident risks among motorcyclists.
Road users are reminded to ensure their vehicles are in safe condition and to adhere to traffic laws, as failure to do so not only invites legal action but also increases the risk of accidents.
