KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching will commemorate its 67th anniversary with a special celebration, “67th Sa’ati Night,” on Jun 28.

The event, scheduled for 630pm at a local restaurant here, marks over six decades of the establishment of the branch since 1959.

According to a press statement on Wednesday (May 6), the anniversary serves as a symbol of the branch’s steadfast service alongside the people and its evolution from humble grassroots beginnings into a resilient organisation.

“Beyond commemoration, the event reflects Kuching branch’s ongoing commitment to unity, public trust and practical service.

“In an evolving political and social landscape, the branch remains focused on steady organisational development, strengthening internal cohesion, and building shared consensus to prepare for the challenges ahead,” the statement read.

The branch emphasised that it remains aligned with the progress of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) by deepening grassroots engagement and enhancing service delivery and communication capabilities.

On a local level, the branch reaffirmed its commitment to key constituencies, specifically Padungan.

Efforts there will focus on systematic community engagement and the consolidation of existing support through measured, service-grounded expansion.

“The branch believes that meaningful politics is defined by results that improve everyday lives.

“Guided by this principle, it will continue to stay close to the grassroots and respond to public expectations through concrete action,” the statement added.

The celebration is expected to bring together party members, long-time supporters and invited guests from various sectors to reflect on the organization’s journey and its future direction.

the public may contact organising chairman Lucas Lim Tee Kiat at 019-8787778 or Kapitan Fong Yee Chee at 012-8081800 for further details on the event.
