SARIKEI: A new basketball court is set to be built at SJK(C) Tung Kwong here under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP), with works currently underway.
Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, said the facility is expected to improve the school’s sports infrastructure and support student development.
He said the project will provide a more conducive environment for students while encouraging greater participation in co-curricular activities.
“The provision of better sports facilities can help nurture students’ talents and promote a healthy lifestyle,” he said during a site visit to the project today (May 7).
Huang said the court is expected to benefit the school community once completed.
He added that the project reflects the Sarawak Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance education support and improve school facilities.
