LISBON: Sarawakian professional Nazrin Ali Hossien has been appointed to the ISO 41001 Technical Committee for Facility Management under the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), becoming the first Sarawakian to serve on the international committee.
The appointment, announced here on Thursday (May 7), marks a milestone for both Sarawak and Malaysia in the global facility management industry.
As a member of the ISO technical committee, Nazrin will contribute perspectives and technical expertise towards shaping international standards and best practices for facility management adopted worldwide.
Nazrin, who leads Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Permata Sdn Bhd, represented Malaysia at the International Facility Management Conference in Portugal, where he addressed delegates and industry experts from various countries.
During the conference, he highlighted the evolving role of facility management in driving organisational excellence, sustainability and operational resilience.
“It is a great honour to represent Sarawak and Malaysia at the international level.
“This opportunity allows us to bring regional experience and practical industry perspectives into global discussions shaping the future of facility management,” he said.
His appointment also reflects growing international recognition of Sarawakian talent and the increasing role of Malaysian professionals in contributing to the development of global industry standards.
