KUCHING: A mother’s love is unconditional and incomparable, says Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations), Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.
Speaking during the Mother’s Day and Pre-Gawai celebration organised by PBB Samariang at a hotel in Kuching today (May 16), she said unlike other relationships that may come with expectations and conditions, a mother’s love remains constant regardless of a child’s circumstances or achievements.
“A mother will always accept her child as they are. Whether the child succeeds in life or struggles through hardship, a mother’s love remains the same,” she said.
Sharifah, who is also Samariang assemblywoman, said mothers are the ones who guide, support and stay beside their children through both difficult and happy moments in life.
She also thanked those who organised the programme for remembering and appreciating mothers through the celebration, saying the gesture was deeply meaningful to the women present.
At the same time, she extended Hari Gawai greetings to those celebrating and highlighted Sarawak’s long-standing culture of racial and religious harmony.
“In Sarawak, we are all brothers and sisters regardless of race or religion. Whether Iban, Bidayuh, Malay, Chinese or Dayak, we are united as one Sarawakian family,” she added.
Sharifah also emphasised the role of the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR), saying its existence reflected the state government’s commitment towards inclusivity and support for all faiths in Sarawak.
