LUNDU: Rumah Adat Lang Ngindang in Kampung Perian here will receive assistance for the construction of another semi-concrete building and a new staircase in a move aimed at expanding the premises with better facilities.
Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang said the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen and preserve Dayak heritage while enhancing community welfare through practical development.
He said this when officiating the 4th Anniversary Celebration of Rumah Adat Lang Ngindang, Kampung Perian, here yesterday (May 16).
According to him, priority is being given to ensuring that the welfare and development of the local community continue to be safeguarded through various initiatives that benefit residents.
He also called on Community Leaders and Village Chiefs (KMKK) to work closely with the Persatuan Lang Ngindang Kampung Perian, noting the association’s important role as a Dayak non-governmental organisation (NGO) championing customs and heritage.
He added that preserving the cultural identity of the Dayak community requires strong cooperation from all parties to ensure that the heritage is maintained and passed on to future generations.
