Dr Sim also said the projects covered various infrastructure improvements, including upgrades to roads and drainage systems, enhancements to waterfronts and markets, installation of street lighting and traffic lights, public toilets, public libraries, landscape beautification, as well as rural facilities and amenities.

“All of these projects are progressing at various stages of implementation under the respective local authorities,” he said.

Dr Sim added that under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), the ministry had disbursed RM382.92 million to local authorities to complete 206 projects.

“In addition, a total of 173 Projek Rakyat since 2018, amounting to RM447.8 million under Projek Khas, are also being implemented,” he added.

On road maintenance, Dr Sim said the ministry received RM276.02 million this year under the Malaysian Road Record Information System (MARRIS) to maintain council roads and related infrastructure.
