ENGKILILI: Two development projects in Kampung Melayu Engkilili were officially handed over by the State Development Office to the committee members of the mosque and Dewan Melayu Engkilili during a project handover ceremony held on Wednesday (May 20).

The projects involved upgrading works for Dataran Kejat worth RM40,000 and upgrading works for Masjid Darul Naa’aim with a total allocation of RM200,000.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the handover ceremony was witnessed by Lubok Antu MP Roy Angau Gingkoi and Lubok Antu District Officer Akoi Ejau

The upgrading works aim to enhance public facilities while providing a more comfortable and conducive environment for the local community.

The upgraded Dataran Kejat is expected to benefit the implementation of various community activities and social programmes in the area.

Meanwhile, improvements to Masjid Darul Naa’aim are expected to enhance the comfort of congregants while strengthening the mosque’s role as a centre for community and ummah development activities.

The development efforts reflect the government’s continued commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of rural communities through the provision of better and higher-quality public facilities.

Residents of Kampung Melayu Engkilili also welcomed the implementation of the projects, describing them as initiatives that would bring long-term benefits to the local community.
