KUALA LUMPUR: Families, couples and first-time football fans are uniting behind Kuching City FC as the club prepares for a historic Malaysia Cup final showdown with giants Johor Darul Ta’zim.

The remarkable run to the final has not only ignited excitement among long-time supporters but also attracted new fans, with many describing the season as a turning point for the club and a “wonderful era” for Sarawak football.
Supporters have been sharing emotional stories of how the team has brought them together.
“As Superfans we are so happy for Kuching City FC for finishing second in the Super League and qualifying for ACL2. Legends in the making and a wonderful era for the club and us fans,” said Daphne Lim, who attended matches with her son, Jhetapon Riley.

Others highlighted how the club’s journey has created shared memories across families and friendships.
“I went to watch the game with my girlfriend and it was her first football match. It was such a fun experience. Congrats to Kuching City FC, a small club with a big heart. All the best in this week’s Malaysia Cup final, bring the trophy home!” said Sidney Harold to Sarawak Tribune recently.
Emmanuel Ambas, who attended last week’s match against KL City FC with his father, Edwin Agam, said the club’s progress has been inspiring.

“I wish Kuching City FC all the best in the Malaysia Cup final, to more glory days. You can do it,” he said.
For lifelong supporter, Aril Rozni, the journey is deeply personal.
“Since I was seven years old, that was the first time I watched football with my dad. Hopefully Kuching City can win even though it will be challenging,” he said.
Sibu-based fan, Wong Sui Ying, who has followed Sarawak football for over 15 years, said belief remains strong despite the odds.
“The chances are… well, the ball is round,” he said.

Young supporter, Muhammad Bakrie, added that team chemistry could be key to an upset.
“Hopefully they can make it against JDT because they have good chemistry on the field. Hopefully we can make history for Kuching,” he said.
