TEBEDU: Bandar Mutiara Tebedu will receive two mega projects this year, namely the construction of Dataran Mutiara Tebedu and the Economic and Cultural Hub.
According to Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada, the projects will be implemented under the allocation of the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA).
“These projects are expected to become catalysts for economic development as well as new growth centres in the Tebedu border area,” he said during the ‘Pra Gawai Rando Tebedu 2026’ ceremony held at the Tebedu District Office compound on Friday.
Meanwhile, during the event, he also presented a total of RM295,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocations to 59 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) in the Tebedu constituency.
He said the assistance is aimed at helping the JKKKs carry out various community programmes and development needs in their respective villages.
The event also recorded appreciation for Caroline Cleophas Joseph, the Resident of Serian Division, for her service and contributions throughout her tenure in the Serian division before moving to a new ministry beginning June 15.
The ‘Pra Gawai’ celebration does not only serve as a platform to strengthen community ties, but also reflects the spirit of unity and close cooperation between leaders and the people ahead of the Gawai Dayak celebration.
