KANOWIT: The federal government has allocated RM500,000 for the implementation of the Madani Adopted Village Project in Batu Luking, here, focusing on the construction of water tank facilities for the people.

National Unity Minister, Aaron Ago Dagang, said the project is being implemented after the government reviewed the main needs of the residents in the area, which currently still lacks piped water facilities.

He added that the facility is expected to benefit three longhouses and a school in the Batu Luking area.

“Here, we see that the need is for water tanks,” he said after the launching ceremony of the Madani Adopted Village Project for Batu Luking here on Sunday.

He is confident that the allocation is sufficient to meet the needs of the residents in the area.

“It is certainly enough for this area. If possible, it will be large enough to supply not only the longhouses, but also nearby houses here,” he explained.

He revealed that a similar project in Sungai Mapai, Nanga Balingiau last year received an allocation of RM1 million because it involved a larger project scope, including the construction of longhouse roads, roads to schools, and safety facilities.

According to him, the implementation of the project demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing basic facilities to rural residents.
