KANOWIT: Forty-seven families in the Ngemah constituency will receive assistance under the Rural Minor Project Sarawak Poor People’s Housing Improvement Programme (MRP-PPRMS) Phase 1 for 2026.

Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana said the 47 households would benefit from housing improvement assistance amounting to RM500,000 allocated for the Ngemah constituency.

“The PPRMS programme is one of the Sarawak government’s initiatives to ensure that the people have more comfortable and conducive homes,” he said.

He said this when presenting PPRMS plaques to the recipients during a ceremony held at Tong Cheng Restaurant here on Wednesday (May 27) as reported by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).

Anyi said the programme reflects the government’s continued commitment to improve the quality of life of underprivileged families, particularly those living in rural areas.

Touching on the recent Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, Anyi said he had raised several matters concerning infrastructure development in the Ngemah constituency.

He also announced that Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas is scheduled to undertake a working visit to Ngemah on June 26 for the handing-over ceremony of a logging road to the state government at the Jalan Jagau junction.

He urged residents to continue supporting the policies and development plans implemented by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

“Strong support from the people is crucial to ensure continuous development and maintain political stability in Sarawak,” he added.
