KUCHING: A total of 17 villages and branch committees in the Satok constituency have benefitted from the Satok Aidiladha Sacrificial Programme through contributions from Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki.
The three-day programme from May 27 to 30 reflects Ibrahim’s continued commitment to engaging with the local community and ensuring that those in need receive sacrificial meat during the festive season.
Ibrahim, who is also Deputy Minister for Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS), said the programme also serves as a platform to strengthen ties and foster a spirit of unity among residents from various villages within the constituency.
On the first day of the programme, six villages received sacrificial cattle contributions, namely Kampung Segedup, Kampung Segedup Rimba, Kampung Sungai Maong, Kampung Kudei Baru Ulu, Kampung Kudei Lama and Kampung Masjid.
On the second day, nine villages as well as the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) Surau received contributions to facilitate the sacrificial rites and distribution of meat to local residents.
Meanwhile, Kampung Muda Hashim B will be the final location to receive contributions under the programme, which is scheduled to be held on May 30.
Ibrahim said all 17 sacrificial cattle distributed under the programme were contributed through the cooperation of various parties, including Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS), as part of efforts to assist local communities and enliven the Aidiladha celebration.
“The contributions reflect the spirit of cooperation between stakeholders in ensuring that the benefits of Aidiladha can be shared with more families and communities across Satok,” he said as reported by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).
