KUCHING: Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri has shared her family’s joy at welcoming twin grandchildren after seven years of waiting.

The twins, Neil Kamil Yee Faeroz and Norrah Soraya Yee Faeroz, were celebrated at a thanksgiving and aqiqah ceremony that also marked their first 100 days, bringing together family members, relatives and close friends.

Sharing her thoughts in a Facebook post, Nancy said the occasion carried special meaning for her family after years of hope and patience.

“After a long wait of seven years, Allah SWT finally bestowed upon our family a precious gift. No words can truly describe the gratitude and happiness we felt upon welcoming our twin grandchildren into our lives,” she said.

Nancy described seeing Neil Kamil and Norrah Soraya grow up healthy as an invaluable blessing and one of the greatest joys her family has experienced.

She said becoming a grandmother had given her a new appreciation for life’s blessings, adding that holding and gazing at her grandchildren was an emotional experience that was difficult to put into words.

“It reminds me that every blessing from Allah comes at the most beautiful time and according to His wisdom. There are moments in life when we must learn to be patient, and today we are simply grateful for this gift that has completed our family’s happiness,” she said.

She also expressed her appreciation to family members, friends and guests who attended the ceremony and shared in the family’s celebration.

“The presence of our loved ones and the prayers offered for Neil Kamil and Norrah Soraya mean so much to us. We are truly grateful for their support and well wishes.

“I pray that the twins would continue to be blessed with good health, noble character and wisdom as they grow, and that they would one day become individuals who bring pride to their family, religion and country,” she added.
