BAU: A 17-year-old boy with an intellectual disability who was reported missing after leaving his home in Kampung Duyoh here on June 1 has been found safe.

According to Bau district police chief Supt Mohd Haide A Rahman, the missing teenager, Kasli Senon, is said to be in Kuching together with his friends during the school holidays.

“The teenager went out of his home to spend time with his friends in Kuching during the school holidays without informing his family.

“Kasli then realised that there was a report of him gone missing circulating in social media, and immediately headed home with the help of the police,” he said.

The case has been considered complete by police.

Earlier, Kasli was reported missing by his father and he was last seen leaving the family home at about 2pm carrying a small bag of clothes without informing anyone of his destination.

Family members told police that it was common for him to leave home on Fridays and return on Sundays in time for school on Monday.

They were unable to determine his whereabouts as he would often refuse to answer questions regarding his movements.

Police said that there were no disputes or arguments at home prior to his disappearance.

Hence, the police launched a search effort for Kasli and post a missing report on social media.
