KUCHING: The Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) and the Bintulu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIB) have formalised a RM9.825-million dividend repayment agreement to be disbursed in stages over 10 years.

Under the agreement, the funds to be received by LAKIB are expected to strengthen the organisation’s financial position while ensuring that welfare programmes and social responsibility initiatives for the community can continue on a sustainable basis.

The ceremony was witnessed by Premier and Chairman of LAKMNS, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, here today.

A symbolic mock cheque presentation was carried out by LAKMNS Honorary Secretary, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain, to LAKIB Chairman, Iskandar Turkee.

Also present were Deputy Premier and Deputy Chairman of LAKMNS, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and LAKIB Deputy Chairman, Datuk Haidar Khan Asghar Khan.

The collaboration underscores both institutions’ commitment to strengthening governance and ensuring long-term sustainability of welfare and ummah development programmes.
