KUCHING: The Sarawak Education Department (JPN Sarawak) has temporarily reassigned a teacher accused of sexual misconduct in the state to the District Education Office (PPD) pending the completion of investigations by the authorities.
According to JPN Sarawak’s statement, the case is currently under police investigation, and the department is extending its full cooperation to the authorities in the ongoing probe.
The department said it views the allegations, which recently went viral on social media, with utmost seriousness.
At the same time, the Integrity Unit of the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the School Inspectorate are conducting internal investigations to examine all matters related to the case.
JPN Sarawak stressed that it will not compromise on any form of sexual misconduct and that anyone found guilty must face firm and appropriate action.
