KUCHING: MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day (MBD) 2026 brought together around 10,000 participants across Sarawak’s diverse communities to promote active living and healthy breakfast habits.

More than just a morning exercise programme, the event also became a meaningful opportunity for families and friends to spend time together and create lasting memories across generations.

Among those who travelled to be part of the experience was 36-year-old Siti Noor Fadilah from Asajaya, who turned the event into a family outing involving around 30 relatives.

Departing as early as 3 am and travelling in a convoy of about six cars, Siti said the excitement began long before reaching Kuching.

“My children and family members are huge MILO fans. In fact, we can finish a 1kg pack of MILO® in just a few days at home.

“When we heard that MILO MBD was coming to Sarawak, everyone was excited and wanted to be part of it,” she said when met at the event on Sunday.

According to Siti, although her family had participated in other running events before, this marked their first time joining a MILO event together.

Siti believes programmes such as this play an important role in encouraging Malaysians to start their day with breakfast and adopt healthier lifestyles.

She also highlighted the social value of the programme, saying events like these bring together people from different communities across Sarawak.

“I met many friends here and saw people from different backgrounds gathering together.

“My children could interact with more people and become more active socially. Programmes like this help children grow and broaden their experiences,” she added.

Meanwhile, for first-time participant Brian Emilson, 35, from Siburan, the programme became a meaningful family outing and a memorable first experience for his one-year-four-month-old daughter, Charlotte.

Besides Charlotte, Brian also attended together with his wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

While it was also his first time joining MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day, he said one of the main reasons for participating was to give his daughter the chance to experience an event atmosphere from a young age.

“I have been working continuously and feeling stressed, so today was mainly about having fun and spending time with my family.

“It was also Charlotte’s first time joining an event like this, so it feels special for us,” he said earnestly.

Brian shared that he learned about the programme through his wife and described the experience as enjoyable and nostalgic.

“I grew up drinking MILO, so joining this event feels nostalgic. If I have the opportunity again, I would definitely join,” he added.

The event also saw strong participation from returning attendees, including 16-year-old Ahmad Irfan Arsyad, who emerged as the first participant to cross the finish line at MILO MBD 2026 Sarawak.

Despite his impressive finish, Ahmad said the event means more to him than competition, having become a yearly family tradition over the years.

A long-time participant, Ahmad first joined MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day in 2017 when he was just seven years old and this year marked his sixth participation.

“Over the years, it has become a yearly tradition for me, and I always look forward to it. MILO® has been part of my childhood, so I grew up as a MILO® Kid and it naturally became part of my routine,” he said enthusiastically.
