KUCHING: Ambassador of Hungary to Malaysia, Dr Sandor Sipos, visited the Borneo Cultures Museum (BCM) today (June 18) as part of his working visit to Sarawak.

Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported that the visit provided an opportunity for the ambassador and his delegation to gain a deeper understanding of Sarawak’s rich history, culture and heritage.

Accompanying him were Hungary’s Deputy Head of Mission, Kamilla Balla; Honorary Consul of Hungary, Datuk Damien Chua; and other guests.

During the visit, the delegation toured several galleries showcasing the state’s diverse cultural heritage and historical development.

Sandor expressed interest in the museum’s collection of artefacts and interactive exhibits highlighting the unique traditions and customs of Sarawak’s various ethnic communities.

The visit also served as a platform to strengthen cultural exchange and foster closer ties between Hungary and Sarawak.

Earlier in the day, Sandor paid a courtesy call on the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, at Astana Negeri Sarawak.
