KUCHING: A man was arrested for suspected drink-driving during operations conducted by traffic police along Jalan Tabuan early Thursday morning.
Kuching Police Chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, said the suspect, who was driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle, tested above the legal alcohol limit during the operations at about 2:00 am.
“He was detained to assist in investigations under Section 45A(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said in a statement.
Alexson added that police also issued 12 summonses for various traffic offences detected during the operations.
He said enforcement operations would continue to be carried out to improve road safety and curb drink-driving offences.
