BAU: Police have shut down an illegal entertainment outlet operating from a house in Kampung Serikin and arresting its alleged operator during an integrated operation.

Codenamed ‘Ops Noda’, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) raided the unnumbered residence at around 12.15am yesterday (June 21).

Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said it led to the arrest of a 46-year-old local man believed to have been running the unlicensed entertainment premises.

“During the raid, police seized a Voibury portable speaker and two Voibury microphones suspected to have been used for entertainment activities at the outlet.

“Further checks found that the premises did not possess a valid entertainment licence,” he said.

Mohd Haide said the suspect has no prior record and tested negative for drugs after undergoing a urine screening.

The case is being investigated under Section 5(1) of the Entertainment Ordinance 2000.
