SERIAN: Four newlywed couples from the ‘Saudara Kita’ community were celebrated during the ‘Majlis Tautan Kasih Saudara Kita’ held in conjunction with the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) ‘Ziarah Mahabbah’ Programme today.
The symbolic ceremony was organised as a gesture of appreciation for the couples who recently tied the knot and reflected MIS’ commitment to strengthening Islamic family values within the ‘Saudara Kita’ community.
Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Director, Mual Suaud, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring the community together in a spirit of ukhuwah (brotherhood) through the organisation of the ‘Majlis Tautan Kasih’ programme.
He said programmes of this nature not only strengthen ties within the community but also serve as a platform to engage with the ‘Saudara Kita’ community while fostering values of togetherness, mutual support and unity.
The ‘Majlis Tautan Kasih Saudara Kita’ programme is among the initiatives undertaken by MIS to reach out to communities through its ‘Ziarah Mahabbah’ approach, which emphasises welfare, dakwah and inclusive community development.
