Monica Barbaro has joined the cast of the upcoming ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ prequel, which will be directed by Bradley Cooper.
The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star will appear alongside Margot Robbie, who is also producing the film through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. Cooper is set to direct the project, marking his first time helming a film in the Ocean’s franchise.
Plot details remain under wraps, although it has previously been revealed that the story will take place before the events of 2001’s ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, which starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the 2001 film was a remake of the 1960 heist classic of the same name, which featured members of the Rat Pack, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop.
The success of ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ led to two sequels, ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ (2004) and ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ (2007), as well as the female-led spin-off ‘Ocean’s 8’ (2018), starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina and Sarah Paulson.
