KAPIT: A total of RM397,000 has been allocated under the second phase of the 2026 Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant to benefit 50 community organisations and grassroots bodies in the Baleh constituency.
Baleh assemblyman, Nicholas Kudi Jantai, said the allocation would support village development and security committees (JKKKs), women’s bureaus, parent-teacher associations (PTAs), clubs and associations in Baleh and Kapit, and urged recipients to utilise the funds responsibly.
“The grants must be fully utilised for the projects and activities that have been approved so they can deliver meaningful benefits to the community and contribute to local development,” he said at the presentation of the second phase 2026 MRP grant cheques at the Bukit Mabong District Office’s Meeting Room today.
He also reminded recipients to comply with all conditions and guidelines governing the use of the grants to ensure transparency and accountability in managing public funds.
Kudi further advised that all new MRP grant applications should be accompanied by official letters to facilitate the evaluation and approval process by the relevant authorities.
Among the recipients were JKKKs from longhouses in the Mujong, Oyan, Majau and Baleh areas, the Women’s Bureau of JKKK Rumah Panjai Nanga Sebetong Ulu Baleh, the Kapit District branch of the Malaysian Headmasters Association, Bleteh Badminton Club, and the Kapit District Education Office Staff Welfare Fund.
Also present were Baleh constituency community liaison officer Wesley Dugu, Bukit Mabong District Office representative Ricky Undu, and representatives of associations, clubs, PTAs and longhouse chiefs from Kapit and Bukit Mabong.
