Teen killed after car crashes into trailer lorry in pre-dawn Miri collision

MIRI: A 16 year old boy was killed after the Perodua Bezza he was driving collided with a trailer lorry along Jalan Kuala Baram, near Emart, in the early hours of Monday.

The victim, identified as Edmund Linggie Entalang, was trapped inside the mangled vehicle following the collision, prompting an emergency response from the Fire and Rescue Department.

Firefighters from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Lutong) received the distress call at 2.15am and arrived at the scene about 10 minutes later.

Upon arrival, the operation commander confirmed that the crash involved a Perodua Bezza and a trailer lorry, with the driver pinned inside the wreckage.

Rescuers carried out an extrication operation using the SAVER (Stabilise, Access, Vehicle Extrication and Rescue) technique before successfully freeing the victim.

He was then handed over to medical personnel, who confirmed that he had died at the scene. His body was subsequently released to the police for further investigation.

The trailer lorry driver, identified as Alexander Brangah, 30, was reported to have escaped serious injuries.
