KUCHING: Firefighters rescued a motorcyclist trapped beneath a car and an unconscious teenage driver in separate accidents last night (July 21).
The first accident, involving a motorcycle and a car, happened at around 7.35pm in Kampung Itol, Daro.
By the time firefighters from Daro station arrived, they found the injured motorcyclist pinned beneath the car.
The team used an air lifting bag to lift the vehicle before safely extricating the local man, who was later handed over to paramedics for further treatment.
Once the area was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 7.58pm.
About 25 minutes later, at around 8pm, firefighters in Kota Samarahan responded to another accident involving a Perodua Viva at UNI Garden Phase 7B, Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa.
The driver, a female teenager, was found unconscious inside the vehicle. Rescuers removed her using a stretcher before emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) personnel administered initial treatment.
She later regained consciousness and was found to have sustained only minor injuries before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the rescue operation at 8.34pm.
