KUCHING: A 63-year-old man was arrested by police for allegedly possessing dangerous drugs in the Santubong area last Thursday (July 23).
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect was apprehended by personnel from the Santubong police station at about 9.15 pm.
“Upon conducting a further inspection, police found 48 pills believed to be Erimin 5, weighing 15.67 grammes.
“The suspect was also found in possession of methamphetamine weighing 1.15 grammes,” he said.
Alexson said the total estimated market value of the seized drugs was RM1,086.
He added that the suspect also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine through a urine screening test.
The suspect was found to have 20 previous records.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 39C(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
