KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) Sarawak Segulai Sejalai 2026 returns to Kota Samarahan for a three-day run from July 31 to Aug 2, marking the 23rd edition of an event recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the longest-running outdoor carnival in the country.

The carnival, held at the grounds beside the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council, is organised in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP), organisers said in a statement.

Activities over the three days include a Drama Sangat karaoke contest, a bulletin challenge, meet-and-greet sessions with TV3 drama cast members and TV9 personalities, a kids’ colouring contest, free health and dental screenings, a Zumba challenge and the Jom Lokal Jam segment.

Media Prima personalities confirmed to attend include Shafiq Adnan, Afrina Romzi, Fahiz Ariff, Fadzly Fuad, Hanif Miswan, Haniff of Hot FM and Kieran of Kool FM, alongside celebrities Ariana Yusof, Cristina Suzanne, Chacha Maembong, Cahaya Nilam, Irfan Zaini, Nasuha Sulaiman and Zairi Aziz.

The New Straits Times Press booth will feature an interactive family zone called Dunia Kreatif NSTP, offering a colouring competition, a craft and origami session, a front-page photobooth and a gaming console corner.

The Jom Heboh Fun Run returns for its second year with 5km and 8km categories, an exclusive finisher medal, official jersey, tote bag and bib, along with a new family package allowing four participants to register together at a special rate.

The carnival’s highlight, Konsert Jom Heboh, takes place over two nights from 9pm, with Haiza Hanafi, Mariam Saim, Aepul Roza, Fiq Halim, Aweera and Kristal X performing on August 1, followed by Baby Shima, Wany Hasrita, K.O.I., Syamel and Marsha Milan on Aug 2.

A food festival featuring viral and local vendors will also be held alongside the other lifestyle and community activities.

Organisers said the carnival typically draws an average of more than 300,000 visitors per location, and this year’s edition is expected to offer a similarly comprehensive experience combining entertainment, healthy lifestyle elements and community interaction.
