NILAI, Negeri Sembilan: Voters in Negeri Sembilan should elect leaders who stand against corruption, prioritise public interest over personal wealth, and do not shield parties involved in misconduct, said Pakatan Harapan (PH) Communications’ Director, Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.
He said this was evident from the leadership of Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, which had set a good example and delivered strong performance, including through increased investment revenue as well as higher zakat and Baitulmal collections.
“If we look at Tok Min’s (Aminuddin’s) leadership style and what people are saying on social media, many have given him and the PH administration ratings of 9/10, 9.5/10.
“I think we have no other choice but to return Tok Min and PH to lead and administer Negeri Sembilan,” he said at the ‘Jelajah Kekal Harapan Negeri Sembilan’ event here on Wednesday night (July 29).
Fahmi, who is also PKR Information Chief, said Aminuddin’s leadership had elevated institutions such as Yayasan Negeri Sembilan (YNS) to a higher level, with the benefits reaching people across the state.
Meanwhile, Fahmi, who is also the government spokesperson and Communications Minister, said the Cabinet’s decision publicly release the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) was a significant move made after considering the interests of depositors and the institution’s position.
He said PH would ensure that all institutions close to the people’s hearts would continue to be protected, while those found to have breached the law and caused significant losses to Malay and Islamic institutions would be brought to justice.
“We will ensure that institutions such as Tabung Haji continue to be managed well. In Negeri Sembilan, we can see that Yayasan Negeri Sembilan has been well managed, with children beginning to enjoy its benefits, including receiving laptops and other forms of assistance,” he said.
This Saturday, a total of 867,151 voters will exercise their responsibility to elect new representatives, with 103 candidates vying for 36 state assembly seats.
