KUCHING: Wish to save lives and protect the environment?
Then head to the joint Blood Donation, eWaste, and Used Cooking Oil Buy-Back Campaign this Saturday (Aug 1) at Aeroville Mall, here.
The community programme, jointly organised by Aeroville Mall, the Stampin branch of the Malaysian Red Crescent and the Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), aims to boost blood reserves while promoting responsible waste management and environmental sustainability.
The e-Waste Buy-Back Campaign, organised by DNS Waste Management Sdn Bhd, together with the Used Cooking Oil Buy-Back Campaign by Timuran Kembangan, will run from 8am to 2pm on the mall’s first floor.
Meanwhile, the blood donation drive will be held from 10am to 2pm at the same venue.
The organisers said every blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives by supporting patients undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, emergency care and treatment for serious illnesses.
The public is also encouraged to bring unwanted electronic items for proper recycling, including mobile phones, laptops, desktop computers, printers, batteries, chargers, cables, keyboards, cameras and other electronic accessories.
The initiative is intended to reduce environmental pollution while encouraging sustainable waste disposal practices.
Goodie bags will be presented to successful blood donors while stocks last. Walk-in donors are welcome and no prior appointment is required.
