BAU: Police issued a total of 37 summonses for various traffic offences during a five-hour integrated crime prevention operation across the district here on Saturday night.

The operation, held from 10 pm until 3 am, involved 13 personnel from various divisions of the district police headquarters (IPD) led by Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division chief Insp Jimmy Tanjong Andrew Mang.

Patrols were carried out around Bau town, Singai, Siniawan and Serikin areas as well as a roadblock along Jalan Bau-Kuching to strengthen police visibility, deter criminal activities and ensure public safety.

Throughout the operation, Bau police inspected a total of 97 individuals and 77 vehicles, comprising 57 cars, 13 motorcycles and seven pickup trucks.

No arrests, seizures or confiscations were made in the operation.

Aside from traffic enforcement, the team also conducted patrols to prevent vehicle and telecommunications cable thefts.

Similar operations will continue to be conducted periodically to preserve public order, maintain security and ensure compliance with the law.
